Ecoute App Reviews

187 add

I have no fing clue how to use this app.

Where the the settings on this thing? Do I have to view all of the artwork, which takes up most of the real estate on my screen? There is an analogue clock like icon in the upper left that doesnt seem to do anything.

Simply doesnt work.

Using iOS 10. Bought this app gave it access to my music. Press play and nothing happened. Tried with just an artist or an album – still nothing happens. It simply doesnt work. Much worse than that Apple Music app I was trying to replace.

Better than Apple Music app

This app allows me to shuffle by albums unlike Apple Music. Apple needs to do better for its software too restrictive or dumb not to know that shuffling by albums or songs should be a choice.

Clean, customizable, and album shuffle!

Album shuffle was the primary reason I got this app. I was very pleased with the rest of it as well. Apple could take a lesson from the developer(s) of this app. Would have liked to have seen more actual visible buttons for navigation rather than the "swipe and tap things to see what happens" behaviors like the "swipe" to search function, and the return to music list "tap" being on the current album artwork.

Thanks Ecoute

I flip between music apps often and Ive had Ecoute for a while, but after iOS 10 and the hideously revamped (and completely NON-user-friendly) redesign of Apples Music app Im SO grateful to switch back to Ecoute which still boasts intuitive navigation features that actually make sense along with a clean sophisticated look for my music collection. Thanks guys!

Exactly what I wanted

This is how the Apple Music player should look. I love the transparency. Only thing I would like is under the up next screen, when selecting a song instead of highlighting it for delete, play the song. Highlight the song to be deleted by tapping the circle

Life Saver

This app is a life saver with ability to rate song being played, the feature that Apple has yanked out from their music app. While the filters are not different from the native music app, the real power could come from ability to set multiple filters with AND/OR joins between them.

Didnt work for me

Although the app found all the music on my iPhone, it would not play a single song. I would click on a song, and nothing happens.

Does not work well with iPad

No native iPad version so this version looks like a blown up mess. Very difficult to find playlists when you can only see four large squares on the screen rather then a nice list.

Perfectly simple

This app does exactly what you wanted to and is incredibly simple and intuitive to use. Its exactly what I wish the native music app on the iPhone looked like.

Excellent

Best music app in the AppStore!

Pretty

Shows your downloaded music

Please give us the option for album art size

Please please give us the setting to change the size of the album art. Way way way to big. I get that some people like it just give us the option. Great app otherwise.

Outstanding all around

After dealing with the "Boom" player and all its annoying/constricting quirks, I decided to find an app that gave me freedom to listen to my music how I wanted to listen to it with ease and quality sound. Ecoute was highly recomended by friends and I gave it a go. No issues at all, any question I had was quickly answered and Im back to enjoying my music 100%. Thank you for the hard work you clearly put into not only programming the app but really understanding the music fans needs and giving us a great experience.

Great App

This is my favorite app for playing music stored locally on my iPhone. Simple and easy to use without all the bloat of the Apple app.

Cant Restore Purchase

I paid for Ecoute not that long ago. As of now when I go to redownload the app onto my new iPhone 7 it is once again asking me to pay. Absolutely not. Contacted developer. Told of my issue. No response. Absolutely will not pay for this app yet again.

Yay I can rate songs!

But I cant see my playlist folders and sub playlists

Quality music app replacement

After using this for a few days Ive found some things I enjoy and others I hope the developer might address. First I like the options to shuffle by album and mark certain tracks or albums as excluded from shuffle. Also viewing the library in grid format is a great option. The issue Ive run into is the ability to tap into an album from the player screen. In the stock ios 9.3 music app you can tap the artist name/song name and it immediately brings up the album. Then if you tap on that song or a song within the album, it automatically turns shuffle off within that album and plays it in normal succession. With Ecoute I have to perform several steps to accomplish the same result. Otherwise I really like the app but Im still on the fence about using it as a full time music app replacement.

Excellent

I tried another music app due to its ratings and Carplay support. I was very disappointed BUT Ecoute is very, very nice. Its attractive, it works well, it doesnt crash AND just does what the dev says it does. :) Suggestion: Build in Carplay with the next version and it would be even better. Id pay for that.

Terrible for iPad

Badly sized and renders on the iPad, difficult to navigate.
