This app is awesome! It plays my music and it does it in a way that is so much more beautiful and easier than Apples native app. I love it!

Ecoute is just what the doctor ordered for playing audio/music on my iOS device. Apple’s current "everything is selling/streaming“ approach, plus splitting iTunes, Music and Podcasts into different apps, and the horrible UIs for each, drove me away and made me stop listening to my music. I tried a few other players, but ultimately Ecoute won out. I now get to enjoy my music again the way I like. Liked it so much, so for just 99 cents, I gifted it to several friends.

Since the default music app is broken and hideous, Ecoute is the perfect replacement for a simple and elegant listening experience. It looks gorgeous, has simple controls, and removes all the visual problems currently making the Music app unusable. I have a few suggestions/questions for future itterations though? For one, the Now Playing screen resets far too quickly. Im on an iPhone 6 and it defaults back to the music list view from the Now Playing screen if I switch to another app and back literally half the time. Is this just a RAM issue? How can I keep it from doing this? I would recommend an option to switch the default screen to Now Playing in the options so it doesnt have to reset constantly. That way when you open the app it will default to the screen you want it to no matter what. The only other thing I would say is more customization in the layout. I personally cant stand switching between artists, albums, and playlists by selecting them from a list. The familiar bottom tab menu is much better for this, like in the Music app. One of the only things it has actually done right lately. That and a few options like toggling gesture controls on the Now Playing screen, maybe an option for light mode instead of the darker default background in Now Playing. Being able to change the size of the album artwork. Little things like that. They are really pretty minor complaints, since this app knocks it out of the park in every other way. When the Music app was updated I searched long and hard and Ecoute is head and shoulders above the competition. With a few interface changes and toggles, I would easily post $10 for this app in the future!

The app looks nice and works well. One really nice feature is that the list of albums shows compilations along with other albums (the built in app does not - you have to view compilations separately in the built-in music app). I like to use this app for looping and the native app for non looping. It is nice to quickly choose between 2 apps that do what you want without having to mess with settings each time (e.g. looping, shuffling). Only complaint with this app is that features/shortcuts seem to be hidden and there is no help. Even their website has limited help. Other than that, great app!

Ive tried A LOT of music replacement apps but this is the one. So easy to browse by genre, music controls are logical - its responsive and hasnt crashed once. Thanks!

Great app - I love it that it sorts albums by album title and shows compilation albums. I have no idea why Apple Music doesnt do that. It has just enough features and flexibility without being too complicated. Im so happy to have found this!

So much better than Apples own app.

Its simple, but has enough features to be good. With the ever increasing level of clutter of the default music app, I fled to Ecoute, and its nearly everything I ever wanted. It automatically finds lyrics online. It has a sensible "play next" feature. The interface is clean but not hard to navigate. Well worth it.

Audiobooks and Podcasts too. On device only. Very welcome for iOS veterans. Ive moved Apples 9.2 Music.app off main screen.

Love love love this app. Say goodbye to the busy mess that is Apples music app. I rarely, if ever, use Music now that I have this great app. BTW... Giving it one star because youre not getting the lyrics option is pretty immature.

Title says it all. Am sort of miffed that it was touted in the description of being an alternative music player to the music app, but not having multiple playlist capability.

This is a no-brainer purchase if you dont want to have Apple music in your face all the time. Simple, intuitive, and lets you get your music quickly without getting in your way. If this app went Universal tomorrow and cost $5, it would be an insta-buy for me.

Guys I love this app. I swear by it every day but since enrolling for public beta update, the app stops playing music if you exit out or lock your phone while app is running You must leave it open and unlocked if you want to keep playing music, please squash this silly bug!

I love the app overall. My only complaint is that switching from artists to albums is a little slow. This is definitely better than the built in Music app on iOS 9.

Last.fm support doesnt work. Developers been ignoring us for 3 months straight. Wish this review prompts him to finally look into this issue.

Developers please fix the lyrics feature. I added lyrics to all my songs via iTunes and they would show up in Ecoute for about a day before not showing anything at all. This was also before the current update. Now it shows me lyrics from the internet (which are way off). I want the lyrics Is synced with my songs via iTunes to be shown. PLEASE FIX THIS BUG. Also... when I click on an album/artwork... It is cut off? It never shows fully on my screen. Whats up with that?

Sorry but am I the only one who have the lyrics issue that not showing the lyrics hand-added? Why you never fix this after these several updates?

Plays part of a song then skips to next song for no reason. Just like Apples music player doesnt understand how to shuffle a playlist. Shuffle a playlist means play all of the songs randomly not some of the songs repeatedly. One star because if you cant shuffle youre not ready for the world.

As a person with some gray in his beard, I already have more music than I need. I even paid Apple a bunch to get 64 GB of space to hold a mere portion of my collection. Now they want more money per month to serve the same music from the cloud?! No. No! NO! Thank you for making iOS music playback simple again!
